2023 Jeep Compass vs 2022 Jeep Compass
Serving Merrillville, IN
The Jeep Compass is a sporty crossover that sits between the Renegade and the Cherokee in the lineup. In 2022, the Jeep Compass received fresh styling and a few exciting features. Jeep has continued to enhance this popular model since that time. What are the important differences between the 2022 Compass and the 2023 model year?
In 2023, Jeep introduces all-wheel drive as a standard feature for all five trims. Previously, all-wheel drive was optional. In addition, the powertrain has been upgraded. For the 2022 model year, the Compass was powered by a 177-horsepower, four-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine. For the latest model year, the five trims all have a 200-horsepower, turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine linked to an auto eight-speed transmission. Select trims for 2022 and 2023 have a raised suspension, hill descent control, off-road tires, and skid plates.
Throughout the façade, the 2022 Jeep Compass is identical to its 2023 counterpart. While the Compass has the boxy shape that drivers expect to find in the Jeep lineup, its dimensions have been muted by subtle angles and a slight curve around the nose. The grille continues to have a rectangular pattern, and this geometric feel continues through the long, lower-front fascia and the squared-off wheel wells. The base trim for both years is outfitted with 17-inch wheels, roof rails, heated side mirrors, and LED lights. The more advanced trims for 2022 and 2023 add a panoramic sunroof, upgraded headlights, up to 19-inch wheels, auto wipers, LED foglights, and other equipment.
Between the 2022 and 2023 model years, a couple of the Jeep Compass’s safety features have been reshuffled. Across both model years, trims may have safety equipment like parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, a driver attention warning, a rear seat reminder, forward collision mitigation, and more. In addition, the base trim for both years comes with a 10.1-inch touch display screen, USB ports in both rows, wireless smart device app connections, and satellite radio. Higher trims for the 2022 and 2023 Compass add an Alpine sound system, heated front and rear seats, premium leather, a household power outlet, a dual-zone climate control system, and more.
