The rugged and well-equipped Jeep Grand Cherokee has consistently impressed its drivers and passengers throughout its prominent history. In 2021, the Jeep lineup expanded by incorporating many of the Grand Cherokee’s great features into a three-row body style in the Grand Cherokee L. The variation in passenger accommodations between the 2023 Grand Cherokee and the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee only touches on these SUV models’ differences. Our sales reps at Bosak Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Merrillville are excited to help you decide which model is best for you.

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has five trim options, and three powertrains are offered. As standard equipment, all trims have a 293-horsepower, V6, 3.6-liter gas engine. Options for select trims include a 5.7-liter, V8, 357-horsepower gas system and a 375-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder PHEV. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L has a standard V6, 3.6-liter, 290-horsepower engine, and the same 357-horsepower, V8 engine available in the Grand Cherokee.

The Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L have shared Jeep design language elements. For example, they have a boxy shape with square wheel fenders and a stretched, rectangular grille. The 2023 Grand Cherokee is a smaller model with pinstripe accents on the sides. It has rectangular LED headlights and a vast, lower-front fascia for a powerful look. The Grand Cherokee L is a larger model with black body molding and a thin accent line running from front to rear to accommodate three-row seating. Its black lower fascia drops to the bumper, and the foglights have a horizontal row of bulbs.

Both of these Jeep models are smartly outfitted with great features. In various trim levels, they are both available with a touch display screen, leather material, wood trim, a McIntosh sound system, a head-up display, night vision, a wireless charging pad, active driving assist, memory settings, and massaging for the front row, a multi-zone climate control system and more. The Grand Cherokee L also offers a passenger-side interactive display, a power-folding third row, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and a few other features.
