Serving Merrillville, IN

In 2020, the RAM 1500 bears the honors of being the top-rated vehicle for large trucks. When you look at its credentials, you’ll see that the RAM 1500 ranks #1 for a good reason! The RAM 1500 is traditionally known for being a reliable, steady work vehicle. This year is no exception with more standard and available features than before. In 2020, the EcoDiesel engine makes a triumphant return, delivering more torque and power than ever before. You can also choose a more customized exterior appearance thanks to several exterior styling packages, including the Black Edition and the Night Edition. A new trim, called the HFE, also offers a slightly improved fuel economy. There are a few more trim options this year, too. The 2019 RAM 1500 received a full redesign that gave it a more spacious back row seat, an increased payload and towing capacity, and less weight overall. You can’t go wrong with either model year, but you’ll have to pay our dealership a visit to test drive both for yourself to find your favorite.

Performance

Both the 2020 and the 2019 editions of the RAM 1500 offer plenty in the way of performance and power. The standard engine on the 2019 model is a 3.6L with six cylinders. This engine produces up to 305 HP and 269 LB-FT of torque. You can also upgrade to a larger and more powerful 5.7L engine that generates nearly 400 HP and 410 LB-FT of torque. Both engines are coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while four-wheel drive is available on most trim levels. The 2020 RAM 1500 adds another engine, which is the EcoDiesel. This engine is a 3.0L with six cylinders. Its performance capabilities include a power output of 260 HP and 480 LB-FT of torque. This engine is available in nearly all trim levels except for the HFE. As with the gasoline engines, you can get the diesel engine with an automatic transmission.

Appearance

Each model year of the RAM offers something new and exciting. The base 2019 model gets 18-inch wheels, while the 2020 base model upgrades to 19-inch wheels. A five-inch touchscreen display is standard, as is vinyl flooring and upholstery. A tow hitch receiver and more off-road amenities are standard as you progress up the RAM lineup.

The features you get with your RAM vary primarily by trim level. A five-inch display screen is standard, while you can get satellite radio, a larger 8.4-inch information display, heated seats, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a more substantial sound system with the higher-end trims.
