Serving Merrillville, IN

Because you expect great things from your next crossover SUV, your attention has naturally settled on the Jeep Renegade and the Toyota C-HR. These are subcompact crossovers that have excitingly unique personalities and a thoughtful array of features. Their differences are initially apparent from a look at their exterior designs. Their other standout qualities come into focus as you take a harder look at their features and capabilities.

Exterior

The 2020 Renegade has a boxy profile that you may love about many current Jeep models. As is the case with many other Jeep family models, the Renegade has round LED headlights mated with a branded grille. The flat-nosed front end combines with raised roof rails, thick molding through the lower body, square wheel wells, and defined fenders to complete the Renegade’s individualized look. On the other hand, the Toyota C-HR has a relatively pointed nose with a large grille that drops down through most of the front end. The sharp curvature through the roof impacts the available passenger space in the cabin.

Interior

The roomy interior of the Renegade is enhanced by a panoramic moonroof and an overall open design. At the front of the cabin, the molded dashboard and console have a modern, unique look. They hold everything from a sound system and a touch display screen to auto climate controls, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. In the Toyota C-HR, the sharp angle over the roof impacts the spaciousness of the cabin. The dashboard has a ledge that floats above the center console. Base-level equipment in the C-HR are a digital display screen, manual climate controls, and smart device integration.

Performance

Across the many Jeep Renegade trim levels for 2020, you can choose between two powertrains. One of the powertrains is an I-4, 2.4-liter engine that produces 180 horsepower. It is linked to front-wheel drive and an automatic nine-speed transmission. The 2020 CH-R is available with the same engine throughout its three trim levels. This is a 2.0-liter, I-4 engine that delivers 144 horsepower. Front-wheel drive and a CVT are standard across the C-HR’s trim line.
