What’s New for the 2021 Jeep Compass?
The Jeep Compass is a charismatic small SUV with plenty of off-road capability and performance features. The Jeep Compass also draws attention at first glance for its distinguished exterior, which has many unique athletic and functional characteristics while still retaining many of Jeep’s classic exterior elements, such as a seven-slot grille and rounded front headlights. The Jeep Compass is just about as versatile as an SUV gets, with even more custom finish options in 2021 than before. In 2021, the Jeep Compass introduces a new 80th Anniversary Edition. There are also some minor feature differences for select trims, including the Trailhawk and the Limited. The Jeep stands out for its premium infotainment features as well.
Starting with the Sport, there are four trim levels offered for the Compass in 2021. The Sport begins with a well-equipped cabin that seats five. The bench seat in the back folds flat to provide more space for cargo or passengers on demand. The Sport comes with automatic climate control for comfort in all seasons. Its base technology package has all you need for a connected and entertaining ride with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker sound system, and a user-friendly touchscreen interface. Moving up to the Latitude, you will get more standard features on the Compass, including alloy wheels rather than steel wheels, fog lights, automatic LED headlights, and roof rails. The interior gets some more sophisticated elements, including keyless ignition, keyless entry, satellite radio, and a steering wheel wrapped with leather—the Limited upgrades to a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen display with a color display screen. Remote engine start is another added convenience. This trim adds some more luxury amenities to the cabin, including leather seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated front-row seats. The Trailhawk gets more off-road features, including standard all-wheel drive. It also has off-road tires and a raised suspension to handle the elements better.
The same engine powers all trim levels of the 2021 Compass, a gasoline-based 2.4L engine with four cylinders. The engine’s maximum power output is 180 HP, and it produces up to 175 LB-FT in torque. Front-wheel drive is standard for most of the Jeep Compass lineup, except for the Trailhawk, which automatically gets all-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available for the other trim levels. You will get a nine-speed transmission if you choose all-wheel drive and a six-speed transmission with front-wheel drive.
