What’s New for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee?

The Jeep Cherokee is a naturally fun and adventurous SUV. In 2021, the Jeep Cherokee remains true to its roots, with more custom look and design options than ever before. Keeping up with the competition, the Jeep Cherokee also adds a competitive suite of standard safety aids for the new year. This year’s Jeep Cherokee is available with even more trims to choose from, including a new 80th Anniversary trim and a new variant called the Lux, which even comes with its own set of powerful engines that satisfy even the most insatiable need for speed. The 2021 Jeep Cherokee also has more standard conveniences and luxuries added to the different trim levels to give car shoppers the broadest range of features and options.

In 2021, the Jeep Cherokee base trim remains the same as in 2020, which is the Latitude. The Latitude has roof rails and alloy wheels for an attractive outer appearance. The Jeep Cherokee also has split-folding seats. The Latitude has a seven-inch infotainment system. It supports your apps along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A six-speaker sound system comes standard, along with new driver-assist aids this year, including rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot warning, lane-keep assist, and forward collision mitigation. Wireless charging and remote start comes with the Latitude Plus, which follows the Jeep lineup’s Latitude. Heated seats are standard, and USB charging ports are added to accommodate occupants in the second row.

Meanwhile, leather seats are standard with the Latitude Lux, which is a new trim in 2021. The Latitude Lux also adds a power-adjustable passenger’s seat. The Trailhawk, one of the most rugged Jeeps available, has a larger 8.4-inch multimedia screen and all-terrain tires. A premier sound system comes with the Limited, along with dual-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof. A few extra safety features are added to the Limited, too, including adaptive cruise control. Ventilated front seats and black styling accents are available with packages.

Base power on the Jeep Cherokee is a 2.4L engine with four cylinders. This engine can crank 180 HP and about 170 LB-FT in torque. A turbo-four, available with the Latitude Lux, produces 270 HP and 295 LB-FT of torque. You can also get a V6 that delivers 239 LB-FT of torque. Four-wheel drive is standard or available.
