What’s New for the 2021 Dodge Durango?
The 2021 Dodge Durango brings some modest but refreshing changes to the market this year. The latest Durango has the vehicle’s most aggressive exterior styling yet with some modifications and tweaks to its front and back ends. The interior gets some attention, too, with a new touchscreen added to this year’s SUV. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, but they are now offered with a wireless connection. The latest Durango will also satisfy even the most particular driver’s need for speed with a new engine to the lineup, called the SRT Hellcat, that provides even more power for the Durango than before.
Performance, historically a hallmark of the Dodge Durango, is improved upon even more this year. The 2021 Durango still has the same base engine as before, a standard 3.6L with six cylinders. This engine’s 295 HP and 260 LB-FT capacity in torque gives the Durango a class-leading towing capacity of 6,200 pounds. This year, those wanting more power can also get the 5.7L V8, which is now standard on the R/T. This engine is newly offered with a Tow N Go package that increases its towing capacity to 8,700, which is also a best-in-class rating. An all-new engine is the SRT 392, which produces an unprecedented 475 HP matched with 470 LB-FT of torque.
The 2021 Dodge Durango also gets some styling modifications inside and out. Its exterior design features an even more sculpted and chiseled appearance for the newest model year. The front fascia has been redesigned on the 2021 Durango for a powerful impression. The rear spoiler also gets a design change to create a more streamlined appearance and improve the Durango’s aerodynamics. The 2021 Durango has larger brake rotors in the front to help bring the SUV to a stop more quickly and easily. The Dodge Durango previously had a best-in-class infotainment display, but now its touchscreen is improved even more. All trims have a larger display screen at 10.1 inches. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now wireless for convenience, making the Durango one of the few in its class to offer wireless infotainment technology. Amazon Alexa has also been added to this year’s list of features.
